The IRS has announced that 2016 income tax filings can start on January 23rd of 2017. That will be the first date that e-filings will be accepted, and of course those that still mail their returns in can do so at that time.
January 15, 2017 is the due date for estimated tax payments for the fourth quarter of the 2016 tax year. 1099-MISC forms are due to contractors by Febuary 1, 2017.
Corporate returns are due March 15th. Personal and partnership returns are due April 18th. Non-profit returns are due May 15th.
Those that must file Maryland personal property returns, that due date is March 15th. Virginia personal property returns are likely due May 1st; check with your county of origin. Virginia business licenses are likely due March 1st; again check with your county of origin.
Federal Form 960 for employers is due January 31. Maryland employer withholding reconciliation returns (Form MW508) are due by February 28th.
